Rogers Centre Visit

I headed over to Toronto this weekend and I headed over to the Rogers Centre to pick up a couple of pocket schedules and to take a look at the new things happening outside of the Rogers Centre.

I walked around the Rogers Centre to see if there were any new additions to the place.

I then walked over to the Jays Shop and decided to look at all the new items for the 2008 season.

I looked at the baseball section and found the brand new "Rogers Centre" baseball. These baseballs were being used by the Blue Jays last season. I hope I snag one when I go to a game this season.

After looking at the baseballs, I bumped into my autograph buddy Tang and he chatted for a bit. He just came to the Rogers Centre to pick up his season tickets. He also walked inside the Jays Shop to pick up a pocket schedule. Tang purchased some Offical Major League baseballs for signing and before he left he invited me to attend some Blue Jays games with him this season.

Chris,

Great photos! It's always cool to run into your collector buddies and other fans of the game to talk baseball with. It's spring fever and baseball is one week away!

Hi, Chris!

Great pictures!!!

Many years ago, I visited Toronto, and actually watched a game [with my friend] from the "Hard Rock Cafe", in the then called "Sky Dome" !!! Toronto is a very beautiful city!!!...

Anyway, thanks for visiting my MLBlog site today, for my live blogging of the Red Sox vs. A's game [in Japan] this morning...

It was a very exciting game; and, the A's were leading 4-3 going into the 9th inning. But, Boston scored a run to tie the score at 4-4...

The game went into extra-innings, and in the top of 10th, the Red Sox took the lead 6-4, on a 2-run double by Manny Ramirez...

But, the A's had a rally going in the bottom of the 10th, when a very bad base running blunder hurt their chances of coming back to win the game...Emil Brown, of the A's, hit a line drive double in the right-centerfield gap to drive in a run...but, he got caught-up between second and third; and, was tagged out, for the second out of the inning...[It was an RBI double, but also, out number two]...The A's got two more hits after that, but a ground out to second base was the final out of the inning, and the Red Sox won the game 6-5...

A very tough loss for the A's...A good win for Boston...Not good news for the Yankees!...

Hopefully, I will be live blogging tomorrow's Red Sox vs. A's [6:00 a.m. in Japan] game! ....

Also, I do hope to live blog the Yankees home opener, next Monday, March 31th [1:00 p.m. start] vs. the Blue Jays !!!

Take care, Chris!

Have a great day!

Jimmy

Hey Chris,
Love the pics!

Looks like baseball fever's got you too. Four days left!

In answer to your question about Turner Field that you left on my site;

I think it's not too hard to snag baseballs there if you're persistent and in the right place at the right time. BP is the best and if you hang out behind the fence you'll be good. The gap between the wall and the stands is pretty minimal so most balls will make it to you. And the players catching flies will throw plenty of balls to fans if they're out there asking (by name). But you know all this.

Gates open 2 1/2 hours before the game so if you get there early...no prob! Good luck and let me know when you're coming and how it goes!

Excellent photos of the Rogers Centre!

Steve--
Yes!! I am so pumped. I am stilling trying to figure out when I will be attending my first game of the season. There is a slim chance that I might see the Rockies, but we will see. I have to find a cheap plane ticket.

Jimmy--

Yes!! I love going to games in Toronto. I love the atmosphere and I love the ballpark. I will def watch you live blog the Yankees vs Blue Jay game on the March 31st. I will try and have up my autograph sucess from Spring Training tomorrow.

Jaq--

Yes, thanks for the tips. I really want to head over to Turner Field this season, I think I would get over 30 balls in 5 games there def. I think Turner is the only ballpark that lets fans in the earliest. I know that the Rangers had the same gate times a couple of years ago, but I do not know if it is the same today. I know that at alot of ballparks certain gates open sooner then others.

Mike--

Thanks Mike!!!

Ah, makes me long for baseball! Those turned out to be some really nice photos. What kind of camera are you using?

Michael--
Thanks dude! I am using a Canon Powershot A460 camera. I think it is awesome. I just bought this camera about 5 months ago. The camera I was bringing with me to games last year was not the best and had a bad zoom. This one has twice the zoom. Here is a photo of it. http://www.digital-cameras.com/pic/300x300/26/77/fake_2677.jpg

Everyone--

100% tomorrow I will have up my Spring Training sucess TTM entry. I have not got any more back this week. The delivery man justed came and delivered my New York Yankee tickets 20 minutes ago.
