Blue Jay Alumni Signing

It was a beautiful sunny day in Toronto as I waited in line at the Rogers Video store in Davisville. There were a few people in line when I arrived. I didn't find the wait too long either. I had about a 40 minute wait. To welcome everyone there, the Blue Jays mascot came out to greet us and to take photo's in the crowd. I got to know some other autograph collectors in line and I talked to them. I got to know this guy named Franklin and he showed me his autographs. He told me some of his tips and I shared some of mine. I handed him one of my business cards and he told me he would check out my blog. Later on, the Blue Jays van arrived to set up the tables for signing. A short time later, the players arrived and then things went even faster. As I moved up, I could see the players at the tables. They're great guys and had agreed to sign all the photos, cards, balls, and bats for fans. I got some great pictures and got them to sign cards and balls I had brought with me.

Hey Chris:

That's an awesome display of photos and autographs!

Lloyd Moseby was a great center fielder for the Toronto Blue Jays. Moseby's nickname (Shaker) was tagged on him as a basketball player, from his ability to get away from or "shake" players who attempted to defend against him on the basketball court.

A hard throwing pitcher, Duane Ward, was outstanding in the role as (The Setup Man) and (The Closer) for the Blue Jays. Ward helped the Blue Jays win the World Series Championship in 1992 and 1993.

Tony Fernandez was noted for his exceptional defensive skills at shortstop and was instrumental in helping the Blue Jays win the 1993 World Series. Fernandez won four "Gold Glove Awards" for his spectacular defense.

Very cool stuff, Chris. I was a big Moseby fan as a kid, and always thought he was an underrated player.

Tony Fernandez was a shell of himself by the time he got to the Mets. He mailed it in with them, unfortunately, but still certainly had a great career.

Duane Ward was a horse who would have made a mint in today's game. Blue Jays got him for Doyle Alexander...a blast from the past.

Nice to see, Chris. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, you really like them. You know alot about them. Duane Ward is really nice, he personalized photo's for some people. Tony Fernandez was quite and did not talk that much. I am so happy I attended this signing and I hope I can make it to another one sometime soon.

Gregg---

I am happy that you all love the blog entry. Those 3 players where excellent stars. Are you going to any games this year?

Jimmy---

Thanks! I have only had 3 sucess from ST this year. I hope I get some more back this week. I watched the Yankees game on my laptop today and it was a good one. I would def say from my perspective that the Yankees have got a really good chance of winning the World Series. They have so many excellent rookie prospects that can help them. Go Yanks Go!!!

Hey Chris,

Cool stuff again. I really like Tony Fernandez when I was a kid. And I like that they wore those baby blue road unis from the 80s. Brings back good memories.

How cool is that A. Hill video stealing home. Love that play. One of the most exciting moves in all sports.

btw, i'm a bit slow when it comes to technology. how do you imbed youtube videos in the blog? Haven't figured that out yet. If you don't mind taking a second, could you tell me the steps to take?

Thanks!

Jeff

Wow, that is really cool Chris! Congratulations. How did you get ALL of those cards signed? I thought they would only sign a 1-2 per person?
Anyways, sweet job!!

Jeff---
Yes, I love that move where he steals for home. That was probably the play of the year for 2007. There where not many fantastic catchs this past season, but I did see Curtis Granderson rob one of the Red Sox players from a homerun in Detroit. If you want to add a YouTube video then all you have to do is, 1)Embed the video code from the video (which is located on the right hand side of the page) 2)Go to your blog and click Edit HTML and paste that code into there and then click save. Then it should come up. Try it and let me know. It will work.

Ronald---

Well, the limit was 2-3 autographs per person, but they are free and I just got them to sign all my stuff. No one said nothing to me. I got the most signed. I hope your collection is growing good full of autographs.

Everyone---

I will have my snagging trip blog entry up in the next hour or so.

Hey Chris,

Thanks a lot for the info! I will try it soon. Take care, Jeff

Jeff---
No Problem. Glad I could help another blogger out.
